In the afternoon, when the sun shines directly into the window, there is still significant light coming through these curtains.However, they do seem to block most of the light coming from the outside street lights at night, making the room quite a bit darker than without these curtains.The product description says that these curtains can block 95% to 98% of sunlight. Perhaps that is accurate. The best way I can describe this is as if you had a 100-watt bulb in the room, and when you turned it off, you turned on two night-lights. The curtains are very light weight so they are a good option if you use cheaper/less robust curtain rods.The natural color is a very light neutral that leans towards sage green, it might actually be a bit less green than the product photos show, especially in cooler/white light. The color looks good! The texture is a little plain and overly smooth for my taste. I would prefer a bit more texture so it wouldn't look as manufactured. It's totally smooth to the touch, however when the sun shines through it, you do see a bit of texture then.Overall, in terms of function this work great for our needs. The aesthetics are a bit basic but they are a good value for the price. They do the job well and don't overly draw attention to themselves.”
